Frank WANG Yefeng: The Levitating Perils #2

is now live on whitney.org and on the screens at Whitney Museum of American Art

Launched on Oct 29th, 2025, this new series of five animations follows a floating red monster drifting through time and bias — born from “Yellow Peril” caricatures, reborn as something uncanny, absurdly alive, and maybe… cute (a Chihuahua?). A sequence of four animations switches every six hours over the course of the day with an additional clip interspersed randomly, the work transforms, reshaping a racially charged history into a surreal, speculative space of re-imagination.

On the Hour is a series of Internet art projects that appear every full hour on whitney.org, each unfolding over thirty seconds. Curated by Christiane Paul, Curator of Digital Art at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

To experience it, visit any page on whitney.org — right on the hour.
